This week on Cider Blog we take a trip to Lewis Creek Farms to learn about grafting apple trees.
Did you know that if you plant a Granny Smith apple seed you don't get a Granny Smith apple tree? If you want to grow a Granny Smith you have to take a cutting from an existing tree and graft it on to a new rootstock.
Hard Cider apple varieties we grafted:
Roxbury Russett
Goldrush
Harrison
Medaille d'Or
Harry Master's Jersey
Dabinett
Yarlington Mill
Wickson
Kingston Black
Ashmead's Kernel
Chisel Jersey
